Mission
Japanese Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (JaSPCAN) is a multidisciplinary association of physicians, nurses, legal experts, social workers and other professionals from all over Japan dedicating to the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Goals
JaSPCAN works upon prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect by developing both basic and practical research, promoting collaboration with public and private agencies, and raising public awareness.
Programs
Founded in 1996, JaSPCAN has been holding its annual conference to promote basic, practical and systematic research collaborating with public and private agencies, and also publishing newsletters to communicate with professionals or individuals working against child abuse and neglect. The Society also launched its own journal “Japanese Journal of Child Abuse and Neglect” in November 1999. Membership is open to all professionals concerning with child abuse and neglect.
